The company with the commercial name The Music Republic, which acquired ownership of the Benicàssim International Festival after the 2019 edition, will not be able to debut at the celebration of this mythical festival because of the coronavirus , which has also led other greats such as the Sónar from Barcelona (June) or Mad Cool from Madrid (early July).

In a statement published this Monday on social networks, the organization regrets the situation caused by the health emergency and ensures that it will return the subscription money, " within a maximum period of 30 days " from when the claim is filed and also depending on the form in which each user purchased their tickets.

The owners of other festivals such as the Arenal Sound of Burriana, Viña Rock, Festival de les Arts, Granada Sound or Interestelar Sevilla, announced at the end of FIB 2019 the acquisition of the brand and began to organize the musical event of this 2020 for what that, according to what they said, were going to maintain the essence of the FIB.

But quickly the changes began to be visible and the imprint of the Sánchez brothers was observed in the management mode at the moment in which the FIB dispensed with the seriousness and prestige of a practically unique price (except promotions) for all those who opted for general or VIP subscriptions. Thus, he went on to sell the fertilizers as a ticket auction , that is, to the highest bidder, and gradually increased the price according to "supply and demand." In this system, the new owners of the FIB were already specialized with Arenal Sound, a festival in which they hang the 'sold out' poster without even announcing the groups that attend.

But fibers and sounders are not the same and neither the system nor the poster liked among many of the historical followers of the Benicàssim event. With this system, according to the organization, he had been able to sell "until just a few days ago" a total of 37,000 subscriptions for the 2020 edition, which he will now have to return.

Money back

According to the FIB statement , "attendees will be able to request a refund of the price of subscriptions and of all complementary products purchased on the official website through a form that is active at www.fiberfib.com. Those who purchased their subscription at Festicket, they should contact said platform.

The residents of Benicàssim , who bought their season ticket physically, will be able to request the reimbursement in person next Tuesday, June 2, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the municipal sports center. They must carry the original ticket, a photocopy of the DNI and a signed document that can be found on the official website. "
