The deconfinement can no longer be monitored by drones in Paris. At least not in the near future. The Council of State urged Monday May 18 the state to stop "without delay" to use drones in the capital to monitor compliance with the rules of deconfinement, due to the lack of a legal framework for the use of these technical devices.

According to this decision, in order to be able to use these drones, it will either need a decree to supervise their use, or equip these devices with technical devices preventing the identification of people filmed.

The League for Human Rights and La Quadrature du Net had fought in court to obtain an end to the use of these remote-controlled flying machines equipped with cameras in Paris. These two associations had appealed, Tuesday, May 5, a rejection of their request by the administrative court of Paris. They fear that this surveillance from the sky would bode ill for individual freedoms.

The TA in Paris rejects our #drone appeal, without addressing any of our arguments but by getting lost in a false debate on the presence or not of personal data.

We decided to appeal to obtain a more constructive decision from the @Conseil_Etat in the coming days. https://t.co/qmf4GhnHKh
