Since Covid-19 was unleashed , the Chinese government has consistently given top priority to the safety and health of the people . Under the personal leadership and disposition of President Xi Jinping, the Chinese government has rapidly taken the most comprehensive, comprehensive and rigorous measures to combat the epidemic. Thanks to the hard efforts and huge sacrifices made by the Chinese people, we have already controlled the outbreak in general, with important advances in the labor and productive resumption, as well as an accelerated recovery of socioeconomic activities. Friendship is felt in moments of difficulty. And of course, we will always keep alive the memory in our memory of the sincere aid and support that many members of the international community have given to our fight against Covid-19.

China attaches great importance to cooperation with the UN, WHO and the rest of the international community . We make the epidemic information publicly available in a timely manner, we share without reservation with the international community the genetic sequence of the virus and the experiences regarding the prevention, containment, diagnosis and treatment of the disease, and we provide assistance within the scope of our capacities to the countries that need. We feel as our own the difficulties that different peoples of the world are facing, which is why we turn to international cooperation to fight Covid-19.

We are aware that the health and safety of the Chinese people will be better guaranteed if the virus is defeated globally. In tune with the concept of the community of humanity's shared future, China offers support and help to others on humanitarian grounds, regardless of any ideological considerations or geopolitical interests.

The virus does not distinguish between borders or races. In the response to the global health crisis, the urgency and importance of building a community with a shared future for humanity are highlighted. The only way to beat the Covid-19 lies in unity and cooperation. Acts consisting of sowing political discord, striving to untie and isolate oneself, even resorting to politicization and stigmatization, do not serve to contain the spread of the coronavirus, nor contribute to global efforts against the disease. In this regard, it is appropriate that the international community strongly supports WHO to perform its coordinating role , act according to scientific and rational criteria, enhance international cooperation and improve global health governance.

In view of the serious impacts that Covid-19 has caused on the world economy, all countries face the difficult task of coordinating the epidemic fight and the recovery of socio-economic development .

It is appropriate that countries strengthen the coordination of macroeconomic policies, together defend the stability of the international financial market, ensure the healthy functioning of production and supply chains, and safeguard the WTO-based multilateral trading system . China, in turn, will continue to expand reform and openness, make access to the Chinese market more flexible, and increase Chinese imports and investments abroad, with a view to contributing to global economic stability.

Solidarity

Faced with the threat of Covid-19, the governments and peoples of China and Spain stand in solidarity to overcome these difficult moments together . President Xi Jinping has sent a telegram to HM King Don Felipe VI and has made phone calls with Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez to express solidarity and support. Both countries are substantially promoting cooperation against the epidemic and firmly defending multilateralism. We give encouragement to the Spanish people in their anti-epidemic battle and we pay tribute to the health, military, police and volunteers who fight on the front line. We have seen with pleasure that the measures adopted by the Spanish authorities have had positive effects, which fills us with confidence in an early victory for Spain in the fight against Covid-19.

The friendly ties that unite China and Spain date back to ancient times . The guiding principles of bilateral diplomatic relations have always been respect, trust, friendship, sincerity and assistance between the two nations since its establishment in 1973. In November 2018, President Xi Jinping carried out a successful state visit to Spain, on which occasion both countries unveiled the "Joint Declaration of the People's Republic of China and the Kingdom of Spain on strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Association in the new era" and agreed to strengthen high-level exchanges , deepen mutual political trust, raise the level of cooperation, deepen traditional friendship and enhance the rapprochement of both peoples. As we Chinese people say, the sun always rises after the storm . I am convinced that the brotherhood between China and Spain will end up being reinforced after having been tested in this joint fight against Covid-19, which will result in more and better results of substantive cooperation in various fields, for the benefit of both countries and peoples. .
