Right in the street, around 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening. A 17-year-old young man was shot and killed in the sensitive Planoise neighborhood of Besançon by a gunman who fled while another man was arrested, it was learned from the prosecution.
The deceased young man, known to the police and the justice system, was fatally injured in the chest while he was at the foot of a building bar, said the prosecutor of Besançon, Alexia Marquis. The man was in a car with the perpetrator, who fled, she said.
The investigation was entrusted to the judicial police, co-seized with the departmental security of Besançon.
A drug-related murder?
Life in the sensitive district of Planoise in Besançon was punctuated between last November and March by armed clashes between rival gangs, against the backdrop of drug trafficking. A situation which had led the Doubs prefecture to introduce a mid-March curfew for minors under the age of 16. Fifteen people suspected of being involved in the settling of armed accounts, linked to drug trafficking, were also charged.
According to Alexia Marquis, it was too early Sunday evening to establish a link between these events and the death of the 17-year-old boy.
