The scars from a violent relationship limited Lena Sjöström's life for many years, but at the Astam reception in Umeå she has been given tools to move on.

- For me it has meant that I actually have a life and a normal relationship today, says Lena Sjöström.

Concern for longer queues and reduced competence

Lena is worried that the changes that are now being made in psychiatry will lead to longer queues and a greater risk of being met by staff who lack the specialist expertise needed to treat the type of trauma she herself has suffered.

Lena is also afraid that Asta's target group will be prioritized down in competition with others, as their problems are often not noticed outwards.

- Since many of us are well functioning in social life, you may not understand how much it has affected our lives.

The Chief Executive Officer promises equally good care in the future

Operations manager Sara Oscarsson Hannuksela at the psychiatric clinic in Umeå emphasizes that Asta's operations will remain even after the merger and says that Asta's target group will be guaranteed equal care in the future.
