Two teenagers were killed in a "crime of honor" in northwest Pakistan after a video was posted on the internet.
According to the BBC, they were shot dead by a family member earlier this week in a village on the border of the tribal districts of North and South Waziristan. The murder occurred after a short video recorded on a mobile appeared, police said, which has been sent to this remote area to investigate the case.
The incident took place on Thursday afternoon in Shaam Plain Garyom, a northern and southern Waziristan border village in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to a police report quoted by Pakistani newspaper Dawn . This media publishes that the reason behind the murders of the two girls, 16 and 18 years old, was believed to be a video, which shows a young man who is recorded with three girls in an isolated area outdoors without having transcended the content of the recording. "At this time, our top priority is to ensure the life of the third girl and the man before taking any action," the officer said.
