May 17, 2020He was to be transferred from the prison in Ravenna to another facility, hence the controls. An inmate was found positive for Covid-19 after a swab. At that point, about 200 swabs were made in the facility among the 73 detainees and 70 officers of the prison police, director, medical and nursing staff, psychologists and psychiatrists.
A list was also made of people, including cellmates and lawyers, with whom the man came into contact.
At the moment, the analyzes would seem to exclude the presence of an outbreak in prison. The prisoner, asymptomatic and without any flu symptoms in recent weeks, had been in the cell in Ravenna for a few months.
He is now in solitary confinement pending the results of a further swab carried out yesterday. Internal talks with lawyers are suspended for the moment.
