  • Differences. The Valencian Community passes to Phase 1 after the fight with the Government

The Valencian Government has already set its sights on the next step of the de-escalation of the pandemic and after obtaining yesterday the progression to Phase 1, it has announced that it will request within a week the entry of the entire set of autonomy to Phase 2 This was just announced by the Minister of Health, Ana Barceló , who has conditioned the request on the behavior of the virus for the next seven days.

The data that he has offered support his request, since admissions at UCIS have decreased by 50% and hospital admissions by 44%. Based on this evolution, the Consell is already thinking about Phase 2 that, Barceló has said, it seeks to achieve by block provinces and not by health departments, as happened when last week the ministry gave the green light to some municipalities to enter in Phase 1 and left 0 in others, including the three provincial capitals.

Of course, the councilor has highlighted the "importance" of consolidating Phase 1 to be able to advance to the next and for this, he has asked for "joint responsibility". "We must not let our guard down. This week is going to be decisive. Going through the phase is not a total lack of confidence and we do not want to be the first here. We all want to get there."

Barceló was congratulated for the transition to Phase 1 and thanked, he said, the "effort of professionals and citizens". Gone are therefore the tension between the Ministry of Health and the Consell derived from Madrid's refusal to lead the Valencian Community to Phase 1 when the regional government took it for granted.

The President of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, sent a veiled message to Madrid in which his dissatisfaction was guessed: that he would not submit more reports until he knew what criteria were to be followed exactly when he understood that in the document they had sent to Madrid, they met all the demands.
