The Cambodian Ministry of Health announced that the last female patient with the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19) recovered and left the hospital, becoming the southeastern Asian country without any infections, but she urged citizens to continue to be careful.

In a statement, the ministry added that the restrictions related to the virus will not be eased, including the closure of schools, the checks carried out at the border entry points and the quarantine for people coming from abroad.

Since the outbreak in China and its spread throughout the world, Cambodia has recorded only 122 cases of the virus that causes Covid-19 disease without any deaths. The disease has infected more than 4.5 million people worldwide and has killed about 300,000 since January.

A 36-year-old woman left a hospital in the capital, Phnom Penh, and appeared in a live broadcast on Saturday. The recovered woman thanked the health authorities.

The most recent case recorded by Cambodia on April 12. The ministry said it had performed 14,684 tests to detect the virus since January.

Health Minister Mam Punheng urged people to be careful and take precautions such as not gathering in large numbers.

He added to reporters: "We believe that most of the cases in general came from abroad, so we have to be careful at all border checkpoints, at airports and ports, and at land checkpoints."
