Norway helps Sweden with deficiency medicine l
In Sweden, due to the coronapandemic, the lack of the anesthetic propofol, which is the most commonly used sleep medicine in intensive care and in surgeries. Now Sweden gets help from Norway, which this week sends a delivery of the drug to the brother country.

The lack of propofol has, among other things, led to hospitals in Sweden being forced to use alternative preparations or to operate patients with local anesthesia or back anesthesia instead of anesthetizing them.

In Norway, on the other hand, medicine stocks are well stocked, according to the National Center for Drug Preparedness, which has a central responsibility for the national emergency stocks. In Sweden, the responsibility lies with the regions - which did not meet the requirements, according to the National Board of Health and Welfare.

-We have no good emergency storage, either in terms of medicines, protective materials or any other consumable materials that you need in care, and this is also evident here, says the Swedish National Board of Emergency Management, Johanna Sandwall, to Dagens Nyheter.

However, Minister of Social Affairs Lena Hallengren (S) does not believe that Sweden has a worse preparedness than many other countries.

"We have now been able to get a delivery from Norway because, right now, they do not have as many people in need of intensive care as Sweden has," she tells DN.

Since March 21, tourists, hashish sellers and police have not been seen in the old military area in central Copenhagen.

But at 12 o'clock on Saturday, the residents of Christiania ended the self-imposed quarantine and opened up the fences.

"It has been nice and has given rest to both the head and the stomach," says Bente Morén, who lives in the middle of the area and is part of the city's economy group.

Another reason for her to welcome the opening to the public is that the order around the hash sale can be restored. During the closure, a market soon appeared on the nearby streets of the Christianshavn district, which led to a lot of unpleasantness.

-There were all sorts of outsiders who wanted to sell. No one checked what they had in their pockets.
