A police officer accidentally injured by a motorist. The accident took place on the A1 motorway, at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis while this motorcyclist from the Directorate of Traffic and Public Order (DOPC) was trying to intercept the participants of a rodeo of about thirty motorcycles.

The official was transported to the hospital "in absolute emergency," said the police headquarters. According to a police source, he suffered on Saturday from a broken wrist and multiple bruises and was still awaiting further examinations, but his life is not in danger.

Eight participants arrested

This police biker followed with other agents including police from the Anti-Crime Brigade (BAC), about thirty two-wheelers who had improvised a rodeo on the Paris ring road. Spotted around 11:35 p.m. at the Porte de Saint-Cloud, west of the capital, some refused to obey police checks and continued their journey towards the north of the Paris agglomeration, while being followed by the agents until the accident occurred around 12:15 a.m.

In total, eight rodeo participants were arrested for refusing to comply and endangering the lives of others, said the police headquarters.
