The normal life style changes greatly during quarantine, and you may feel overwhelmed by caring for children and working remotely at the same time, or you may feel exhausted due to anxiety from the Corona crisis, as you follow all preventive measures to protect yourself and those around you from getting sick.

In a report by writer Leandra Pipot published in the American magazine "The Healthy", mental health experts explain why some people feel mentally tired during the quarantine period, and they give advice on how to deal with the stress and anxiety associated with the Corona virus.

Corona stress depletes energy

A Kaiser Family survey in the last week of March showed that 45% of respondents said that the Corona virus had affected their mental health.

Psychologist Janet Shivetelli emphasized that it should be remembered that the mind adapts to every completely new threat. The virus also attacks from all sides at the same time, and this type of stress depletes energy greatly. Do not be offended if you feel that you cannot beat the pressure some days.

Family therapy, Juanil Serra, emphasized that "depression causes fatigue, and anxiety causes insomnia, which increases the feeling of stress during the day." Mental fatigue may be the result of several factors, ranging from financial stress or health anxiety to remote work or tensions between family members at home.

Know your rights

In adherence to the preventive measures that keep home, companies made strenuous efforts to compensate for the losses and to resume work remotely. "The offices provide an ideal environment for focus, but working at home and with children becomes hard," Serra explains.

It is important to know your rights. In other words, check to see if you can get additional paid leave. You can take sick leave to relieve mental fatigue. Also learn to breathe in a good way.

Fear of the financial situation

A 2015 survey of the American Psychological Association on stress found that money and financial condition are always a major stressor. Today, this daily fear has become a tragic reality in the time of Corona.

With fear of losing your job and worrying about investments - as well as unpaid bills - you steal precious mental energy from you. This requires knowing your financial situation, making a careful budget and plan to maintain a healthy lifestyle and maintain your mental health.

If you constantly check the news posted on social media, you should distinguish between useful information and your concern. Turning off your phone may help you avoid the news you worry about, but it can be difficult to do during this period, as text messages and phone calls help people stay in touch with their loved ones isolated during quarantine.

Use your phone or computer as a way to calm your nerves instead of running out of energy. It is recommended to participate in a virtual family evening, join an online book club, or set up a conference call with friends or family while cooking food together from your homes.

Bug a sk

You should follow CDC guidelines that recommend washing hands and covering the face. Your inner fear of the virus and the craving to sterilize your home can lead to mental exhaustion. To deal with this, it is recommended that you focus on what you can control, such as a cleaning routine, and create a routine that includes doing everything you can to protect yourself from viruses.

These steps help us know that we are doing our best to protect ourselves. Exercise also helps to restore energy and improve your health at the same time.

Staying with the family
Psychologist Janet Shivetelli stressed that "some differences between family members are normal because we are all stuck in one place for a long time and in a way we are not used to." You may have planned from the beginning of the year to spend more time with the family, but you never imagined this would be quarantined. For parents with young children, it may be difficult to enjoy personal space or peace moments. Couples may also feel overworked by routine.

Marriage specialist Katie Hieran recommends contacting the outside world and focusing on the most positive people.

Worrying about your distant loved ones

It is natural to worry about the safety of family and friends, especially those who live far away. Remind them to take effective ways to stay safe from the pandemic. But what to remember is that you cannot control the habits of others. And constant worrying about something - you can't control it - is stressful. So you should pay attention if psychological fatigue is caused by anxiety about factors outside your sphere of influence.

Sera recommends the necessity of communicating with this period and talking constantly with your family members, and the same applies to your loved ones that are far from you as well. If you feel anxious even after contacting them and making sure they are safe, remind yourself that they can access the same resources online as virtual support groups, medical diagnostics, and tele-treatment.

Fear of the future

Heran noted that anxiety about the future is one of the most important causes of mental fatigue. Feeling anxious about the coming weeks and months is normal, as we don't control when quarantine ends.

Sera explains that physical activity helps overcome anxiety and depression. Exercises, walking in the living room, or exercising on the Internet can make you feel happy and distract your mind from fear.
