There are storms in Värmland's medical care at the moment, not only because of the corona crisis.

Two nurses at the ambulance in Arvika have resigned in protest against being relocated to the intensive care unit in Karlstad without receiving the salary an IVA nurse has. IVA nurse Mariette Gunnarsson, also in Arvika, is in turn forced to commute to Torsby to work.

Has written a letter

Now the ambulance nurses in Arvika are also going out with strong criticism of the management.

All of the more than 30 ambulance nurses are behind a letter to be sent to the politicians and the highest officials in the region, mainly regarding the work situation during the summer months but also about a working climate that is described as very poor.

- We've had enough, says ambulance nurse Janna Jansson.

Several parts of the criticism

The protest consists of several parts.

It is about scheduling for the summer, where the staff has again been given on-call hours in the schedule, up to 40 hours a month. It is also a matter of the fact that the ambulance nurses are not allowed to take advantage of the extra ob- servation paid to many other nurses, but also that they consider that the management uses military techniques against the staff.

Want to have a dialogue

Christer Lagerberg, acting chief operating officer for the ambulance in Värmland, says that the on-call pass will remain in place this summer and that no extra compensation will be introduced. He does not want to comment further on the criticism of the management, but on the other hand hear more about the criticism of the ambulance staff.

- I think we should gather and have a dialogue about it, says Christer Lagerberg.
