The 2020 Cross-Country MTB World Championships slated for late June in Albstadt (Germany) have been rescheduled from October 5 to 11 in the Austrian city of Leogang, the International Cycling Union (UCI) announced on Friday.

Leogang, which was already scheduled to host the Downhill MTB Worlds, "has agreed to add the specialties of cross-country (Olympic cross-country, cross-country relay and E-mountain Bike) to its program," according to the press release. international federation.

The UCI announced on April 30 the cancellation of the Albstadt Worlds due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The pandemic also caused an upheaval of the calendar of the MTB World Cup which provided for ten rounds. Four organizations were forced to cancel their demonstration: Losinj (Croatia), Fort William (Great Britain), Vallnord Pal Arinsal (Andorra) and Mont-Sainte-Anne (Canada).

The new calendar, which runs from September to November 2020, provides for six destinations: Lenzerheide (Switzerland, September 5 and 6), Val di Sole (Italy, September 12 and 13), Les Gets (France, September 19 and September 20), Nove di Mesto (Czech Republic, two heats between September 29 and October 4), Maribor (Slovenia, two heats between October 15 and 18), Lousa (Portugal, between November 29 and 1).
