“The store that was in Bollnäs will not be left, but the stores in Gävle City, Valbo and Hudiksvall remain,” writes Marie Sandahl, IR manager at Marqet in an email to SVT Gävleborg.
MQ got a new owner last week and the fashion chain changed its name to Marqet. The company has 119 stores around Sweden. The store in Bollnäs is one of about 40 stores that disappear when Marqet scales its operations.
"We have decided to increase our focus on e-commerce with a reduced number of stores and we expect to keep some 80 stores around Sweden," Marie Sandahl writes.
She does not want to comment on how many employees are affected in connection with the closure of the store in Bollnäs.
