A member of the House of Representatives, Mr. Mitsuru Sakurai, who has left the National Democratic Party and has no affiliation, met with an executive of the Liberal Democratic Party and submitted an admission notice that he wanted to work in the Liberal Democratic Party.

Mr. Sakurai, who was elected to the House of Councilors Miyagi constituency, left the party last year and became independent, saying that the National Democratic Party could not achieve the desired policy, but he remained a congregation with the Constitutional Democratic Party.

On the 15th, Mr. Sakurai submitted a notice of withdrawal from the parliamentary group, met with the LDP's chairman of the House of Councilors Sekiguchi, and submitted an admission notice as he wanted to work in the parliamentary group of the LDP.

Mr. Sekiguchi, on the other hand, told him that he would accept the membership after he decided to leave the group.

Mr. Sakurai told reporters, "The new coronavirus countermeasures cannot be reflected in the policy unless the ruling party is involved. I would like the ruling party to go to work."
