Dozens of Palestinians were injured and suffocated, on Friday, following the dispersal of the Israeli occupation army, two marches rejecting settlements, in the northern occupied West Bank.

The occupation army teams marched in which dozens of Palestinians participated in the town of Al-Sawiya, in the Nablus governorate, which came out to denounce an Israeli decision to confiscate lands in the town to expand settlements.

Eye witnesses stated that the occupation army used rubber bullets and tear gas canisters to disperse the demonstrators.

For its part, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement that its crews in Al-Sawiya dealt with six people wounded with tear gas canisters and rubber-coated metal bullets, noting that dozens of people suffocated due to inhaling tear gas and had been treated in the field.

For the second week in a row, the people of Al-Sawiya are organizing a march condemning settlement building, in response to Tel Aviv's decision to confiscate tens of acres to expand settlements close to the town.

In the town of Kafr Qaddum, to the east of the city of Qalqilya (north), the Israeli occupation forces marched weekly, condemning the settlements, using rubber bullets and tear gas canisters.

Murad Shtaiwi, coordinator of the Popular Resistance Committees in the town, said in a statement that dozens of participants suffered from suffocation due to inhaling tear gas and treatment was provided to them in the field.

Israeli and Palestinian estimates indicate that there are about 650,000 settlers in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, who live in 164 settlements and 116 outposts.
