Dubai Health Authority clarified that it relies in the diagnosis of "Covid 19" virus on the only internationally approved laboratory examination to diagnose the disease, known by a technique known scientifically as "chain polymerase reaction" (PCR), and this test is used to detect the presence of the virus's DNA in the test sample, Through a nasal swab, a person is considered ill if this type of examination detects the presence of DNA.

The body indicated that there is a second type of examination used to detect antibodies to the emerging corona virus, which are produced by the body by the immune system after several days of infection with the virus, and therefore may indicate a previous infection, including the rapid immediate examination known as (Rapid antibody test).

The Health Authority stated that rapid tests to detect antibodies have not yet been universally approved as a diagnostic method.

The authority stated that the World Health Organization recommended limiting the use of immediate examination in conducting epidemiological observations in epidemiological surveys, research and studies.
 The authority confirmed that its diagnostic procedures for Covid 19 disease are in line with those of the official health authorities in the country.

The Health Authority appealed to all members of society to obtain information, especially what is related to it in the health field, from its official and reliable sources, and not to be drawn into rumors and what is circulated through social media platforms that lack scientific accuracy, stressing that its specialized cadres closely follow global developments related to all Matters related to Covid-19 virus, whether in terms of the tests used to detect the disease, or in terms of efforts to find an effective virus vaccine.
