She was walking down the street with her cane when the suspect jumped on her. Thursday morning, a 77-year-old woman was injured after being attacked in the street by a man in Bourgoin-Jallieu, near Lyon.

According to the Dauphiné Libéré, the suspect, who had just left his home, attacked the first person encountered on the street. He would then have slapped several slaps on the septuagenarian. The blows unbalanced the victim who fell heavily to the ground. The man would then have jumped on her to continue hitting her until a motorist and a pedestrian, attending the scene, intervened to help the septuagenarian.

Police custody lifted

The latter, transported to the city hospital, underwent a two-day ITT. The suspect, present at the arrival of the police, was arrested. Unknown to the police, the 58-year-old man, followed for psychiatric disorders, was placed in police custody. A measure lifted in the evening of Thursday, during which he was hospitalized automatically, according to the regional daily.
