A man who had just snatched the necklace from an octogenarian in the street in Perpignan, before fleeing could not have run very far. Two passers-by, a director of an airy center and a young firefighter from the barracks of Perpignan Nord, set off in pursuit and quickly caught up with him.

Despite his attempts to escape by spraying them with tear gas, the attacker was finally brought under control until the arrival of the police. The necklace was returned to the victim.

16 years old and already well known to justice

Aged 16, the octogenarian's aggressor has already been sentenced several times for thefts in the Paris region. He will be brought this Thursday morning before the Perpignan children's court.
