The number working remotely has increased from 15 percent to 57 percent during the corona crisis, according to a new survey conducted by Kantar Sifo on behalf of Tele2. This is an increase of 400 percent.

- Before the corona pandemic, homework was usually up to everyone. It was something you could agree with your employer to get together the life puzzle or to do their job in a calmer environment. But now it has become compulsory in many workplaces and therefore it is interesting to see how the attitude differs, says Fredrik Hallstan, communications manager for the company section at Tele2.

"Many stress less"

The study concludes that telework can lead to employees becoming more efficient and feeling better. More than a third of those who work at home full-time feel that they are getting more done than before. However, among those who work less than 25 percent from home, the perception is the opposite.

68 percent of teleworkers feel that they have a good balance between work and leisure and 64 percent that they can relax when they are unemployed. More than a third state that they are more satisfied with their work situation during the corona crisis than in the past.

- We didn't think people would think it was better to work from home. The survey shows that many people feel better, stress less and can relax when they are vacant to a greater extent when they work from home, says Fredrik Hallstan.

Cold talk is lost

On the other hand, distance work affects the relationship with colleagues. 30 percent of those surveyed say they think the video meetings are so effective that cold talk and relationship building are lost. Half say it had a negative impact on the team feeling. In February, the share was 26 percent.

4 out of 10 respondents want to continue working more remotely even when the corona crisis is over and as many say they will travel less in the service.

The survey is based on 1,000 interviews with employees of companies with more than ten employees in February and April 2020.
