He recalled the introduction of a new test system, which will allow for large-scale permanent screenings of the situation with Moscow, determining “how many Muscovites really have the coronavirus,” or got sick.

“What you say is that 130 thousand infected in Moscow are incorrect terminology. We have already spoken about this more than once: 130 thousand identified people who were infected with coronavirus, in fact, there are much more of them, ”he said.

As the mayor noted, the task is to identify as much as possible those who are sick.

“We are starting this week ... begin large-scale screening testing. It will be constructed as follows. Every three days we will send 70,000 invitations to Muscovites in 30 different polyclinics of the city, where powerful new ELISA test systems for venous blood tests are installed. And every three days we will update these 70 thousand, ”he added.

Sobyanin emphasized that this would make it possible to get a weekly “analysis of the situation, how many really Muscovites started to get sick, are sick in an advanced state, and how many have already been ill and have immunity.”

“Then we will know exactly both the volume and the dynamics of infection,” he said.

According to current data, as of May 14, 252,245 cases of COVID-19 were detected in Russia, 130,716 of them in Moscow.

Earlier, Sobyanin said that automatic blood analyzers have been installed in the capital to detect antibodies to COVID-19, which will start mass free testing on May 15.
