“Using our significant competencies and developments in bioinformatics, I propose creating the National Base for Genetic Information,” Putin said.
He explained that it was about “on the basis of common standards to ensure the protection of data, their storage and transmission, the development of software for search, analysis and modeling of information”.
“I ask the government to organize financing for this project, and will have to do it at the expense of the federal budget,” the president said.
He also stressed the need to "reliably protect personal data of citizens, other sensitive information."
