“The main goal of this project is to support the further development of the criminal justice system and entities in Moldova, as well as to strengthen targeted efforts to combat corruption,” the text says.

As the authors of the document emphasized, the priority of the United States with respect to Moldova is to help its people “achieve its Euro-Atlantic aspirations”, as well as support the country's efforts to become a “safe, stable and prosperous state based on the rule of law”.

According to the American initiative, experts invited to participate in the project will be involved in the work to promote“Further reform of the prosecutor’s office and the judiciary” of the country, “increasing the professionalism and integrity of their employees”, “building the capacity of key bodies of the justice system”.

US and foreign non-governmental and non-profit organizations, as well as educational institutions, can take part in the grant competition.

It is assumed that work on the project will begin in September and will continue for two years.

In March, the United States announced plans to help create an “efficient, affordable, and transparent” justice system in Moldova.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) intended to allocate from $ 5 million to $ 6 million for these purposes.
