They had met at the Place du Capitole. Symbolic place for another symbol. About 80 taxi drivers from the Pink City paid a noisy tribute Tuesday, with horns, firecrackers and applause, to the medical staff mobilized in the fight against the coronavirus.

On the rear windows of their cars you could read "Thank you everyone". "This is a tribute to all those - garbage collectors, cashiers, police officers, firefighters ... who worked so that we can pass a peaceful confinement," explained Stéphane Abeilhou, president of the Occitanie Regional Taxi Union, at the origin of this action.

"Tonight is the conclusion of the tributes paid every Wednesday since the beginning of the confinement by taxis, since each week we went to a hospital or a clinic, an Ehpad or a fire station of the metropolis to applaud these workers and show them that they were not alone, "he told AFP.

Before concluding, "since the confinement is finished, it is the last lap of honor to show our gratitude to all these people" For this sound demonstration, they were expected by the mayor of Toulouse, Jean-Luc Moudenc, present on the place.
