“Today, the Office of the Federal Chancellor held additional consultations to resolve the conflict in the south-east of Ukraine,” Interfax quoted him as saying.

According to him, the dialogue took place in a constructive, businesslike manner.

He noted that an agreement was reached on mutual further actions for the peaceful settlement of the conflict in the Donbass.

Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko said that the situation in the Donbass had acquired the character of not a frozen, but a smoldering conflict. 

He noted that “this could have been avoided” if Kiev complied with the Minsk agreements.
