The Covid-19 has left 27,074 dead in France since March 1, announced on Wednesday May 13 the General Directorate of Health, including 17,101 in hospitals and 9,973 in nursing homes and other medico-social establishments. In 24 hours, 83 additional deaths were recorded. On Tuesday, the progression of the daily toll was 348 dead.

France has also recorded 507 confirmed cases of contamination with an additional coronavirus in 24 hours, or 140,734 since the start of the epidemic. But the pressure on the emergency services continues to ease.

The total number of serious cases in intensive care, which has been declining steadily since April 8, now stands at 2,428 patients compared to 2,542 the previous day, or 114 fewer patients.

In terms of mortality, France is falling behind Spain, where the coronavirus caused 27,104 deaths according to the latest official data.
