From our correspondent in Lima,

Nearly 200 French people gathered in front of the Alliance française de Lima on Wednesday ready to be transferred to the airport to finally board an Air France flight to Paris. All visibly relieved to be able to leave this time, because this flight originally planned for Monday was then postponed at the last minute after the publication of a new decree from the French government.

“  Monday we were surprised. We were given an appointment at the Alliance française. And when we arrive, we are told that the flight is canceled because of a decree signed by Édouard Philippe in the morning saying that social distancing is compulsory in the flight,  ”explains Thomas.

Following the publication of the decree, Air France had to review its cabin plans to respect at least one meter distance between each passenger. The flight was therefore rescheduled with half the number of passengers on board. A measure that is debated among these French.

“  It's not consistent, When we see in the RER what is happening in France. Even when we were given the announcement of the decree on the bus, we were all next to each other, there was no social distancing,  ”comments a young woman.

" It reassures me that we are not 350 in the flight, after that it would have been good that it was said from the start and that we did not have the bad surprise at the last moment, but it is understandable  ", estimates a other French.

For those who were unable to board this time, another flight is planned for the weekend. Since the start of containment decreed in mid-March in Peru, nearly 2,000 French people have been repatriated.
