FC Cologne will miss the "Hennes" amulet of fortune for the first time in 12 years when it resumes its matches in the German Bundesliga on Sunday against guests Mainz, after strict health restrictions prevented the club's symbol from appearing on the field.

The Bundesliga will become the first major competition to resume activity on Saturday after a hiatus of more than two months due to the Corona pandemic, but the matches will be held without fans.

About 300 people, including players, technical equipment and referees, will be in and around stadiums during match days to reduce the risk of infection.

Among the things prohibited by the restrictions are amulets, including Capricorn Hennes, who is celebrated on the field before the start of any Cologne match at home.

The Cologne-based newspaper, Express, said it would be the first time since 2008 that Capricorn had not appeared on the field before any match was launched.
