The deaths from coronavirus in Castilla y León could be double those reflected in the official data offered by Health. The Superior Court of Justice of this community has offered this Tuesday the data on deaths obtained from civil registries in March and April. The result is that there are at least 18% more deaths from Covid-19 than those counted by the ministry. If suspicious cases are included, that increase could reach 110%.

As of April 30 included, Health records a total of 1,752 deaths from Covid-19 in Castilla y León. The data compiled by the TSJ reflects that there were actually 2,067 deaths from that cause, as reflected in the medical reports sent to the registries. That is, 18% more.

But if you add up the cases in which the medical reports indicate that death is compatible with a case of coronavirus, the figure in those two months rises to 3,274. That represents an increase of 110% compared to official data. The TSJ explains that "deaths from suspected causes compatible with Covid-19 refer to those whose medical certifications exist pathological processes that may have been caused by the pandemic."

The president of the Superior Court, magistrate José Luis Concepción Rodríguez , agreed to collect the data from the courts after the TSJ of Castilla-La Mancha did it and also detected a death figure much higher than the official one. In that case, confirmed or suspicious data nearly tripled officers. The court then noted that it considered very likely that these deaths described as "suspect" were actually caused by the virus.

As reflected in the data from Castilla-La Mancha , Castilla y León and Madrid , the number of deaths due to coronaviruses collected by civil registries throughout Spain is above those recorded by the Ministry of Health , which in turn is fed by the data provided by the autonomous communities.
