The beach visitor who does not heed the Public Health Authority's recommendations on personal distance to reduce corona spread can count on a denial.

Ystad, Simrishamn and Sjöbo are considering introducing beach hosts to the beaches this summer, something that Ystads Allehanda was the first to tell. This is mainly the case with the two municipalities with the sea coast, where the greatest congestion is expected.

No extra powers

- At a time when it will not be overseas holidays, the beaches will become a natural gathering place, says Thomas Andersson, security manager for the three municipalities, to SVT Nyheter Skåne.

The idea is not that the beach guards should be security guards. Thus, they will have no additional powers.

- They must use their verbal ability and try to get people to understand their own best, says Thomas Andersson.

Blocking roads

The security manager believes that there is a risk that some people will not respect the recommendations on social distance.

Prior to the corona pandemic, municipalities have had problems with bathers not respecting parking rules and blocking rescue routes.

Municipalities in meeting

Elsewhere in Skåne, a large number of visitors have raised questions about how the municipalities should handle the public collections.

Since the corona eruption, the County Administrative Board has bi-weekly meetings with the Scanian municipalities. On Tuesday afternoon, the question of what will apply to beaches and campsites this summer is on the agenda.
