The government and the partnering parties today present a new price package with measures totaling SEK 4.7 billion. SEK 2.7 billion applies to measures for this year and the remaining amount is for 2021.

Primarily, care and care for the elderly will receive a raise of SEK 2.2 billion. The promise means that staff in the elderly care will be given the opportunity to train as a care assistant or nurse during paid working hours.

- We are doing this because it is necessary here and now to strengthen the Swedish elderly care. We need more hands in the businesses that support and help, Emil Källström, Center Party economic-political spokesperson

The state and the employer share the funding and, according to Emil Källström, this means that 10,000 more nurses and nursing assistants can be competently developed and hired.

A total of SEK 190 billion

The new crisis package also means SEK 200 million to get more places at public colleges, with a focus on care and care.

In addition, 2 extra billions are added for extraordinary costs in municipalities and regions, linked to the new corona virus. Municipalities and regions can seek funds for, among other things, personnel costs, protective equipment and intensive care equipment.

The crisis package also means further strengthening to the Public Health Authority and the National Board of Health of a total of around SEK 100 million.

In total, the government has now presented crisis packages for a total of SEK 190 billion.
