During the municipality's press conference, the administration stated that there is a concern that hourly workers may come to work with cold symptoms.

- We tell all employees that you should be home with cold symptoms. But an hourly wage that is dependent on salary and which has no sick pay during the days you are not working, there is a risk that they may go to work with cold symptoms.

The management believes that they want to limit the number of employees moving within the business.

- After a dialogue with the local government, we have offered our hourly wages to be able to become monthly employees in order to minimize the risk of infection spreading.

Everyone should wear protection

According to Chief of Staff Katarina Lückander, many deliveries have been provided with protective equipment that is stored in a central storage room and which is then sent out to those in need. Now the administration wants the staff to wear protection.

- In the nursing work, when you are closer than two meters with the customer, the staff should either use a personal visor or mouth guard. In this way, we eliminate the risk of infection even if an employee does not show symptoms, says Annika Andersson.

50 infected

According to the County Administrative Board, last week's figures show that 50 people in the health and care administration had ascertained or suspected covid-19.

- Three nursing homes in the town of our 18 have been affected by the infection. These are both those carried out on a contracted basis and those that are municipal. Our first recorded case of covid-19 was in April, she says.
