Missing since the day before, at the end of the day, a 74-year-old man was found dead at around 1 p.m. Monday in Montauban. His body was recovered by firefighters north of the Tarn-et-Garonne prefecture, in the waters of Grand Mortarieu, a stream whose level had risen sharply due to the heavy rains.

According to the city's prosecutor's office, relayed by La Dépêche du Midi , the death of the septuagenarian would be accidental. He drowned near his home, which he had left Sunday despite the bad weather. Worried not to see him come back from his walk, his wife had raised the alarm, and research had been started, until the macabre discovery.
