The new map, which can be accessed via the Swedish Forest Agency's website, will make it easier for the forest owner to see which areas are in the national zone for attack.

- So far we have had the worst injuries in the central and southern parts of the county. But the risk index map shows that the risk of attack is great even in the western parts of Värmland where we have a lot of spruce forests. If the summer becomes dry and warm, the risk of new attacks increases, says Hans Källsmyr, injury coordinator for Värmland on the Swedish Forest Agency, in a press release.
