After eight weeks of confinement, France is gradually recovering. But if the morale of the French rises slightly, concern about the health situation remains strong, according to a BVA study for Europe 1 and Orange, published Monday. Pessimistic, the French fear a second wave, and go, for 75% of them, to anticipate a new period of confinement.

The survey finds "a slight improvement" in the morale of the French, which reaches for the first time the average score of 6.5 out of 10, the highest score since mid-March. But 51% of respondents say that worry is the feeling that best reflects their state of mind. This concern, notes BVA, is notably "fueled by a very high fear" of the coronavirus. 76% of those questioned said they were afraid of being infected, or that a family member would fall ill, a rate equivalent to that of March 20.

A strong desire to return to see his loved ones

And while many stores are gradually reopening or thousands of students are going to return to schools, the French are already anticipating, for 75% of them, a second wave of the epidemic and a new containment. More generally, 4 out of 10 French people still think that the worst is ahead of us.

CORONAVIRUS ESSENTIALS

> Gatherings, trips, sport: what remains prohibited despite the deconfinement

> Deconfinement: what you need to know about returning to work

> Partial unemployment: the parents' situation clarified

> The French will have to go on vacation near their home

> Deconfinement: what hygiene for self-service bikes, scooters and scooters?

The fact remains that for the time being, the confinement is finished, and the people polled confide that their priority for the next few days is to go to see their loved ones (73%) and walk the streets (68%). On the other hand, the fear of the virus means that only 31% plan to visit friends in the very short term, and 36% wish to receive it at their home. Finally, 44% of French people intend to go to a store that has reopened.
