Contamination aboard the Charles de Gaulle: "overconfidence" but no "fault"

The command of the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle and his medical team showed an overconfidence in the capacity of the vessel and its escort "to face the coronavirus", said the Minister for the Armies Florence Parly before the commission Defense of the National Assembly. There have been "  errors, but no fault, " said the Minister of the Armed Forces on May 11, 2020. "  The investigations underline that the command and its
medical council had excessive confidence in the capacity of the carrier strike group and the carrier. - had to face the virus (...) They did not report any fault concerning the command of Charles de Gaulle,
" she explained.

The aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle was sailing with the coronavirus before its stopover in Brest in mid-March. The first cases of contamination undoubtedly appeared on
board during air rotations between the Charles de Gaulle stopovers in Cyprus and Brest, she detailed, citing the conclusions of the epidemiology and command inquiries that have just come to end.

The Minister also gave news of the sailors of the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle. 1,035 staff have tested positive for Covid-19 out of 1,790 people and are cured, only one remains hospitalized but is not in intensive care.
