Yesterday, Spain recorded the lowest daily death rate from the Corona Virus (Covid-19) virus, since mid-March, while half of its population is preparing to relieve one of the most stringent public isolation measures in Europe.

The official in charge of health emergencies, Fernando Simon, told a press conference that the number of daily deaths, which reached yesterday, 143, down from 179 the day before yesterday, is the lowest number since March 18, and added: "We are continuing in the downward trend that we are witnessing in recent days." .

And about 51% of the population is moving to the first stage of a four-stage mitigation plan, today, after the government decided that the regions in which they live meet the necessary standards for that. It will include a significant easing of procedures that allows the gathering of up to 10 individuals and people to move around the territory.

In regions that have fulfilled mitigation standards, such as the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands, restaurants, bars and stores will open on a limited scale, and museums, gyms and hotels will reopen for the first time in about two months.

But the two largest cities, Madrid and Barcelona, which have yet to meet the mitigation standards, will remain in phase zero.

According to the Spanish Ministry of Health, as of yesterday, the country had recorded a total of 26,621 deaths, 224,390 injuries.

Standards territories allow up to 10 people to gather from today.
