According to sources in private health facilities in Dubai, the Health Authority informed them in an official circular today that the applicants wishing to obtain a license to practice the profession in specialties were excluded: internal medicine, emergency medicine, infectious disease, respiratory medicine, intensive care medicine, medicine Clinical and sensitive immunology, anesthesiology, paediatrics and its specialties, general medicine ».

The authority added to the list of excluded specializations: "Pharmacy, nursing, sterilization technicians, radiologists, anesthetists, and laboratory technicians in molecular biology and molecular genetics, physical therapy and psychological care."

In its circular addressed to all health professionals and licensed health facilities in Dubai, the authority specified specific conditions for the issuance of licenses to professionals, namely, “the availability of scientific qualifications and practical experience according to the unified standards for the practice of the profession, a valid professional license from the country practicing the profession, the financial receipt or evidence of application for Verifying the authenticity of documents, in addition to a job offer or a letter of acceptance to work only in hospitals dealing with new cases of corona, whether governmental or private ».

The conditions also included exemption from first aid courses or cardio-pulmonary resuscitation courses, or obtaining a medical fitness certificate for health professionals over the age of sixty-five years, and the hospital’s medical director must ensure the professional competencies and skills of new licensees, and ensure their physical and mental fitness to practice the profession, The applications will be reviewed and contacted with the professionals who were excluded to complete the professional licensing procedures later, whenever the authority deems it appropriate.

The list of exceptions included the exemption of health professionals applying for the renewal of the practice of the profession from hours of continuing medical education, training and continuing professional development, first aid courses and cardiac and pulmonary resuscitation courses, as well as a medical fitness certificate for health professionals over the age of 65 years.
