It is the passenger traffic that is most severely affected by the corona virus. Travel between Karlskrona and Gdynia in Poland has been without passengers for several weeks. Instead, the same ferries are used for freight transport.

"The operation itself has not been affected at all, passenger traffic is obviously reduced but it does not affect us at this time," says Karlskrona's acting port manager Ola Gren.

That picture also shares Mats Olsson, CEO of Karlshamn harbor. He divides Karlshamn's port into three parts - the transport, the oil port and the passenger traffic.

- We have a larger export, but at the same time you can say that all passenger traffic is canceled, says Mats Olsson.

"There is no forecast"

In total, the port's transport is somewhat smaller, but there is no concern for the port's future, explains Mats Olsson. The problem at present lies in the fact that the port is forced to change quickly with a message that can come at short notice.

- We have no foresight, all of a sudden some countries can set up vessels in collaboration with us, says Mats Olsson.
