The Kuwaiti Cabinet decided to impose a comprehensive curfew throughout the country, starting from the fourth of next Sunday afternoon until May 30.

The Kuwaiti government announced that the comprehensive ban represents "the last stage in containing the Coruna virus, before gradually returning to life."

The official Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) pointed out that the decision comes as part of the country's precautionary measures to face the repercussions of the spread of the new Corona virus (Covid 19). The Kuwaiti government spokesperson, Tariq Al-Muzaram, explained through his Twitter account that the decision was taken by health authorities.

For his part, Kuwaiti Interior Minister Anas Al-Saleh said that the comprehensive ban "represents the final stage of government measures regarding the containment of corona," noting that it will continue until after Eid Al-Fitr.

He added that life will gradually begin to return to normal after it is over, as the health authorities will have completed their health procedures regarding the virus.

As for Kuwaiti Health Minister Basil Al-Sabah, he considered that "there will be a gradual opening of life, after the end of the comprehensive ban." Kuwaiti Minister of Trade Khaled Al-Roudhan confirmed that the strategic stockpile is "available and sufficient for a long time", stressing that the government "will not allow the health crisis to turn into a food crisis."

He pointed out that the online appointment service for shopping in associations will "continue to work, provided that everyone is allowed to shop in societies once every 6 days."
