“On the pedestal, where Marshal Konev’s sculpture was recently located, someone installed a toilet,” TAN quoted Czech spokesman Jan Danek as saying.
He noted that law enforcement agencies are investigating.
It is noted that vandals desecrated the monument on the night or morning of May 9.
The incident was reported to the police by a man who, on Victory Day, came to lay a bouquet of flowers at the place where the monument was located.
On April 3, a monument to Marshal Konev was dismantled in Prague by order of the authorities in the Prague 6 area. The Russian Foreign Ministry has promised that this action will not go unanswered.
On April 10, the IC of Russia opened a case due to the demolition of the monument to Marshal Konev in the Czech Republic.
Czech President Milos Zeman said the demolition of the monument to the Soviet Marshal in Prague was the stupidity of municipal politicians.
