A video clip showing an Egyptian citizen residing in Saudi Arabia during his arrest sparked outrage among social media activists in Egypt for insulting the dignity of Egyptians in the Kingdom.
The #Sahl_Egyptian_Saudi_Saudi tagged the most interactive list on Twitter in Egypt, with more than five thousand tweets.
It appears in the Egyptian clip, Hossam Madi, who lives in Jeddah, who is exposed to lying on the ground by two people, with his hands bound, and crying for help: "By God, I do not mean, and God is in my mind, standing before our embassy and sending us as what happened in Kuwait." One of the voices appeared, saying, "To repent."
On Thursday, the Saudi Public Prosecution Office arrested him for inciting rioting in front of his country's embassy, according to Saudi media.

Hossam Madi had published a video threatening to demonstrate in front of the Egyptian consulate in Jeddah, because the Egyptian regime ignored the demands of hundreds of Egyptian workers wishing to return to the country, amid the outbreak of the Corona epidemic.
For his part, Ahmed Madi (Hossam's uncle) published a video in which he appealed to the Egyptian authorities and President Sisi to intervene to release his nephew.
"We know that Hosam made a mistake, but he is one of the sons of Egypt, and he elected you president and supported you on all occasions," Madi added, addressing his speech to Sisi.
Egyptian activists have criticized the government of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and the Minister of Immigration, Nabila Makram, for not interfering, protecting its citizens abroad, and preserving their rights.
While others denounced the way the Egyptian media dealt with the news; the fact that Saudi Arabia was a supporter of the regime in Egypt, while one of them said: If the event had been in a "opposition country like Turkey or Qatar", the matter would be different, they said.

# Sahel _ Egyptian_Saudi Arabia A video of an Egyptian stuck saying: We will go to the embassy so that our country returns! |
Egyptians stuck in Kuwait and their return with a scandal after the Kuwaiti government blackmailed and the Egyptian citizen was deported in Saudi Arabia and by them citizens stuck in Qatar who offered to return them at its expense and Sisi who takes his orders from the Zionist Arabs refused. You don't see any remaining countries and we will expose them because of you Sisi? # Egypt - Dina Zakaria (@ dinazakaria9) May 9, 2020 |
Will we sit down for my nation, publishing murder leaks and videos to search the Egyptians inside and outside ?! |
I am the inspector of the video, and I do not want to see him, but all I want to say to the Gulf countries is "Boutu Petroleum". We, like Egyptians, will happen in this way, because we are a good people who stood with all the Arab countries in their ordeals and wars, and the people of their people were the best of their lab and protected them in their wars. But thank you, because adversities show people’s metals 💔 # Sahel - Egyptian_Saudi Arabia - Shaimaa Mustafa (@ Bb7Shaimaa) May 8, 2020 |
