How does de-escalation evolve in each autonomous community? The Government has released this Friday which are the provinces that have met the technical criteria to continue advancing in the lack of confidence and that will move to the so-called Phase 1 starting next Monday, May 11. The provinces that have not met the sanitary requirements, such as the Community of Madrid, will continue for at least one more week in Phase 0.

Phase 1 allows for important de-escalation measures. On the social level: meetings with a maximum of 10 people in the homes or on the terraces of bars or restaurants. In addition, they will be allowed to go to church or wakes. At the economic level, the most relevant is the opening of shops of less than 400 square meters without the need to make an appointment, as well as cultural shows with a third of the capacity.

ANDALUSIA

The provinces of Malaga and Granada will stay at least one more week in Phase 0, while the other six Andalusian provinces will be able to go to the next stage. These are Seville , Cádiz , Córdoba , Jaén , Almería and Huelva . These last two have been presenting especially good data for some time.

Fernando Simón explained that in the cases of Granada and Malaga the evolution in the last week has been "very good", however, the experts have chosen to be cautious. However, he has left an optimism message by highlighting that they are "very close" to making the move to Phase 1 and, therefore, that scenario will be discussed in the coming days.

BALEARICS

The Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands will be able to start Phase 1 of unconfinement starting next Monday. To the island of Formentera that had already entered this phase on the 4th day, those of Mallorca , Menorca and Ibiza are now added .

The Balearic archipelago meets the technical requirements demanded by experts from the Ministry of Health, has the necessary capacity to monitor and control those affected and their contacts. His ability to cope with the situation is, according to Fernando Simón, "very good".

CANARY ISLANDS

The entire autonomous community of the Canary Islands enters Phase 1, where El Hierro , La Gomera and La Graciosa were already located (which directly began last Monday at this stage). Now they are accompanied by the rest of the islands of the archipelago: La Palma , Lanzarote , Fuerteventura , Gran Canaria and Tenerife .

In the Canary Islands, the island operates as a reference unit, instead of the provinces, because due to its own characteristics it manages to control mobility between territories. Something that is a very important factor to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Fernando Simón highlighted that the Canary Islands have had a "spectacular" evolution and that most of the islands have been having a "very small" incidence of cases for a long time.

CANTABRIA

It goes to Phase 1, but without Sanidad validating some of its requests, including the possibility that vehicle dealerships with a surface area greater than 400 square meters would open. A limit that the Government maintains unchanged. "The Ministry has introduced new elements and, after speaking with us up to five times today, they have preferred to opt for a more conservative decision with the most populated provinces," these same sources explain, stressing that they do not question unity of action.

CATALONIA

The Ministry of Health has approved the passage to Phase 1 of unconfinement of three of the nine health regions of Catalonia, as requested by the Generalitat. Specifically, they are those of Campo de Tarragona , Tierras del Ebro and Alto Pirineo y Arán .

In this way, Barcelona and its northern and southern metropolitan area will still remain in Phase 0 of de-escalation ; Central Catalonia , Gerona and Lérida . The Generalitat preferred to take advantage of this plan of lack of confinement, which does not cover its entire territory, given that it is the community with the highest number of daily contagions and deaths.

In this way, the majority of the population residing in Catalan territory will continue in the coming days to receive the rules that are currently applied, that is, the possibility of taking family walks and trips for the elderly accommodated to the established time bands; possibility of doing individual sports at certain times of the day and opening of small commercial premises by appointment.

CEUTA

MADRID'S COMMUNITY

The Government has brought down the controversial claims of the Community of Madrid , which will continue for another week in Phase 0. VALENCIAN COMMUNITY

GALICIA

One of the requests that the Galician government had transferred was the possibility of traveling between provinces, that is, having freedom of movement within the community, something that has not been addressed by the Ministry of Health. The executive of Alberto Núñez Feijóo requested "more flexible mobility" between territories with the same epidemiological situation within the community and also that "the criteria chosen as the geographical limit be the sanitary areas." The region does pass as a whole to Phase 1. "Mobility is restricted to the reference unit," said Minister Salvador Illa. Unity is the province.

MELILLA
