New York City expects unemployment to reach 900,000 by the end of June

　　Recently, New York City Controller Si Jingge released the New York City fiscal year 2021 administrative budget assessment report. According to the report, affected by the epidemic, New York City expects the number of unemployed to reach 900,000 by the end of June, meaning that 1 in 5 people will be unemployed. This estimate exceeded the 8.5% unemployment rate after the "911" terrorist attack and became the peak unemployment rate in New York City after World War II. The catering and hospitality industry suffered the most, with about 183,400 unemployed.

　　New York State fiscal revenue will be reduced by 13.3 billion U.S. dollars. New York City Controller Si Jingge called on all departments to reduce expenditures and save budget. Si Jingge called for compensation for medical care, emergency personnel, police officers, etc.
