The Irish Minister for Education announced on Friday the cancellation of the written baccalaureate exams. Three-quarters of the Terminals wanted the writing to be canceled. For Sophie, a high school student from Dublin, the relief is immense. It takes my weight off!" It feels good to have clarifications. We were told that the exams would be held, but we had no timetable! Every day, I asked myself: is it going to be done? Are they going to put something else in place? Basically, I think it was the best decision they could have made. It's fair to everyone, and it's in the name of everyone's health.  "

Students will be graded by their teachers, who will try to determine what score they would have won if they had written.

Sophie, in Terminale in the south of the country, approves the decision but retains some concerns. “  It’s unique as a system, so it’s necessarily scary. I fear that I will not get my first wish for the superior, and that the teachers are a little subjective. Of course, I trust them, but it still worries me. And then there are certain courses for which I may not have done as well or I have not given myself as much as I would have done for the written word. Maybe it will pull my notes down.  "

The results of this baccalaureate will be known at the end of the summer.
