The Assistant Undersecretary for the Public Health Policy and Licensing Sector, Dr. Amin Hussein Al-Amiri, affirmed the Ministry’s keenness to employ smart means and technologies in educational programs related to the emerging corona virus, saying that «the self-driving car is a right option to enhance prevention from (Covid-19), because it allows to reduce to "A great deal of opportunity for communication between people and saving time.", Pointing to the importance of using artificial intelligence to protect the ministry's cadres from infection, and saving their time that can be devoted to treatment and patient care.

He added that «the current situation represents an opportunity to use this technology in response to the requirements of the global health crisis, and increase the safety of community members from the virus».

He pointed out that the Ministry is keen to implement the vision of the UAE government to make the country one of the first countries in the world to use smart self-driving vehicles in government services, in implementation of the Emirates strategy for the fourth industrial revolution, which is to benefit from technological progress based on artificial intelligence, the Internet of things and fifth-generation communications and others One of the smart technology solutions, which is accelerating its development, is to play vital roles in the governmental service system that works within the framework of a future vision for sustainable development.

He stressed that the UAE is more qualified than others to employ this technology in government projects, including health, with a legislative environment, flexible laws and an adequate infrastructure to strengthen the fifth generation networks that support this type of technology.

He also stressed that all government and private agencies in the country work simultaneously and jointly to contain the repercussions of the "Covid-19" virus, as the UAE has proven its ability to conquer and confront crises with great speed and speed, because of its unique capabilities, high technologies, plans and proactive strategies to face risks.
