Several Russian regions have eased restrictive measures introduced due to the spread of coronavirus infection. So, the authorities of the Pskov region from May 6 allowed the resumption of the stores, whose products are not included in the list of non-food essential goods. These stores must have a separate entrance from the street. 

Also, visits to dental clinics are again allowed there. In addition, some companies will begin to function again, in particular, assisting in the employment and selection of personnel.

In addition, residents of the region are allowed to visit cemeteries.

Along with the weakening of restrictive measures, the region’s authorities have strengthened sanitary requirements for outlets whose activities are again permitted. Employees are required to work in masks and gloves, and fitting is temporarily prohibited in clothing stores.

Earlier, a mandatory mask regime was introduced in the Kaliningrad region, however, the region’s authorities also allowed the work of stores selling non-food products, except for outlets located in the shopping centers and without a separate entrance from the street.

At the same time, the authorities of the Primorsky Territory decided to restrict entry and exit from the Nakhodka city district from May 8 due to the high rate of increase in the incidence of coronavirus infection.

“It has been proposed since May 8 to restrict the entry and exit of people from Nakhodka, except for citizens working in continuous-cycle enterprises, to introduce a system of control over residents in the municipality,” a press release following a meeting of the headquarters for the fight against coronavirus, chaired by the Governor of Primorye Oleg Kozhemyako.

In Nakhodka, the work of shopping centers will also be suspended, except for shops with groceries and essential goods. Recall that from April 30 in the Primorsky Territory a universal mask regime was also introduced.

Meanwhile, Denis Protsenko, the head physician of the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Kommunarka, said that 456 patients are under treatment there, of whom 99% are diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia and 63% are confirmed with COVID. There are 57 patients in the intensive care unit and intensive care unit, 32 of them are on mechanical ventilation.

According to the latest information from the anti-COVID-19 campaign, in Russia 155,370 cases of coronavirus were detected in 85 regions. The largest number of confirmed cases was recorded in Moscow (80 115), Moscow Region (15 761), St. Petersburg (5572) and Nizhny Novgorod Region (3026). 19 865 patients were discharged for recovery, 1451 people died.

As follows from the data of the World Health Organization, Russia is in fifth place in the total number of detected cases of coronavirus infection COVID-19.

The United States of America leads in this indicator - more than 1.1 million cases, followed by Spain, Italy, the UK and Germany.

In turn, specialists from the Singapore University of Technology and Design presented a new forecast, according to which the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19 in Russia will end by August 24, a week later than the date previously predicted by scientists.

At the same time, the world community may face two more new waves of the coronavirus pandemic, said the head of the German Institute of Robert Koch Lothar Wheeler. He stressed that the infection will spread until 60-70% of the population is ill, and social distance can become part of everyday life.

“We know that there will almost certainly be a second wave,” Wheeler emphasized.

Meanwhile, General Mark Milli, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States Armed Forces, said during a briefing that the authorities did not know how COVID-19 appeared.

“The second question is whether its distribution was accidental, whether it got into the environment in a natural way or whether it was done intentionally. We have no conclusive evidence in favor of any version, evidence suggests that this was probably unintentional. The third question is whether he left the virology laboratory in Wuhan or started on the market in Wuhan or elsewhere. The answer is: we don’t know, ”Millie said.

According to him, it would be useful if the PRC authorities granted inspectors access so that the world could find out the real source of the new coronavirus.

However, the head of the White House, Donald Trump, stressed that Washington will soon provide information on where the COVID-19 came from.

“We will provide very specific information after a while,” the US president explained.
