The government had invited leaders and experts from about 50 countries to Sweden to participate. The conference was scheduled for two days in October 2020. But covid-19 is forcing the government to postpone the conference for one year.

The purpose of the conference in Malmö is to take concrete and common steps forward in the fight against anti-Semitism, the government says.

“The Government's ambition to strengthen the efforts to commemorate the Holocaust, the fight against anti-Semitism, anti-Ziganism and other forms of racism, as well as international cooperation in this area, remain as strong. But in order for us to be fully focused on these important issues, we see that it is best to postpone the forum for a year, ”says Prime Minister Stefan Löfven (S) in a press release.

It was in May 2019 that Stefan Löfven (S) announced that the conference would be held in Malmö in 2020, when it is 75 years since the Auschwitz extermination camp was liberated.
