A Chinese man buried his handicapped mother, 79, in an abandoned grave and was rescued from it while alive by a real miracle 3 days after her burial, according to the authorities.

Police in Shanxi Province in northwest China rescued a paralyzed mother known as her family, Wang, last Tuesday after her son's wife called the police and reported her loss.

The 58-year-old son, known by the name of his family, has been imprisoned and faces charges of premeditated murder, according to the police. An investigation is still underway.

Last Tuesday morning, the police in Jingbian Town of Shanshai Province received a call from Wang's son-in-law and her family name Jang, according to the police statement.

Jang told the police that the old woman, Wang, had not returned home after her son put her in a cart and pulled her out of the house by 8 pm on May 2.

The police immediately summoned the son for interrogation, confessing that he had tried to bury his mother alive in an abandoned grave.

The police immediately managed to find the grave and began digging into it, after the police heard a shouting call for help. The surprise was that the paralyzed woman was still alive after about 3 days without food or water.

Media reports indicated that the son returned when he was dragging his empty cart without his mother on May 3, after throwing his mother into the abandoned grave.

When his wife asked him about his mother, he said that he sent her with a driver for a visit to her relatives.

However, Jang filed a complaint about the loss of her husband's mother when she was unable to find her, and she knows she cannot walk without help.

The local authorities confirmed the story, but did not disclose the reasons that prompted the son to do his brutal act. The mother is still in stable condition and is receiving treatment in a local hospital, according to the police.
